ADIDAS LOGO HISTORY

The adidas brand and its logo are closely associated with the three stripes used since 1949. On the very first Adidas logo, there was a spiked running shoe hanging between two long ends of the letter "d".

In 1971, the adidas logo got three parallel stripes resembling a mountain as part of a rebranding campaign.

The latest adidas logo – as consumers recognise it today – was designed in the early 2000s and features a circle crossed by three curvy lines.

ADIDAS LOGO MEANING

Initially, the adidas design team added stripes to its running shoes to make them more durable.

The stripes on the trefoil symbol represent adidas' focus on variety, while the three trefoil leaves are supposed to represent the three parts of the world (America, Europe, and Asia) where people used to be able to find adidas products.
