Bell uses internal memo to defend sales of Huawei smartphones

The company has faced intense scrutiny over the last year, particularly due to concerns about Huawei's connection to the regime of the People'south Republic of Cathay.

U.South. telecom giants Verizon and AT&T ceased their sale of Huawei smartphones in January 2018.

Huawei later made headlines when the visitor'due south global CFO Meng Wanzhou was arrested in Vancouver in Dec 2018 on suspicion that she violated U.Due south. trade sanctions on Iran. Meng was eventually released on bond.

According to documents obtained past Reuters, U.S. authorities declared that Huawei had close links to Islamic republic of iran's Skycom Tech and Canicula, a holdings corporation located in Republic of mauritius.
